Privacy Policy

How ApexMidnight collects, uses, and protects your personal data.

Last updated: 29 August 2026

1. Who we are

ApexMidnight is a free, browser-based multiplayer racing game. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the game, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using ApexMidnight, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the game and your driver profile:

  • Account details you provide when registering: your name, email address, and a hashed password.
  • If you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares with us (name, email, and avatar).
  • Gameplay data such as your garage, credits, race results, lap times, and leaderboard rankings.
  • Technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and session activity, used for security and to keep the game running.
  • Your email preferences: whether you want to receive optional emails about the game, and when we last sent you one, so we never email you too often.
  • If you write to us through the contact form, the name, email address, and message you send, together with the reCAPTCHA assessment described below.
  • If you consent to analytics, information about how you use the game, such as pages visited, approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address), and device and browser type, collected through Google Analytics and Plausible Analytics. We never collect this until you opt in through the cookie banner.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and maintain your driver profile and let you play.
  • To run real-time multiplayer races, lobbies, and leaderboards.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, including screening contact form submissions for spam.
  • To respond to you if you contact us for support.
  • To send you the emails your account needs: the link that verifies your email address, sign-in codes, password resets, and notices when your address or security settings change. These are part of the service and are sent whatever your email preferences say.
  • To send you optional emails about the game itself, such as race reminders, daily challenges, championship deadlines, and lap records you have lost. These are off unless you ask for them, either through the optional box on the sign-up form or from the Email section of your profile settings. Every one of them carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects the account emails above.

4. Email verification and anti-spam

We ask you to confirm your email address when you register, so that nobody can sign up with an address that is not theirs and so that account emails reach you. Our contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 to tell real messages from automated spam. reCAPTCHA collects your IP address and information about how you interact with the page, and sends it to Google for scoring. It runs only on the contact page.

5. Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for authentication and security, and, only if you consent, optional analytics cookies. For details, see our Cookie Policy.

6. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the game (such as hosting and authentication providers), and where required by law. Your public driver name and race results may be visible to other players on leaderboards and in lobbies.

We use Resend to deliver our email, so the address we send to and the contents of the message pass through their systems. We use Google reCAPTCHA on the contact form, which shares your IP address and page interaction data with Google as described above.

If you consent to analytics, we share usage data with Google (Google Analytics) and Plausible Analytics, which process it on our behalf to produce aggregate statistics. Google may process this data on servers in the United States; Plausible processes data within the European Union and uses no cookies. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie banner.

7. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal data, except where we are required to keep it for legal reasons.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

You can stop the optional emails about the game at any time, either from the Email section of your profile settings or from the unsubscribe link in any of those emails, without contacting us first.

9. Children

ApexMidnight is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.

11. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, please contact us through the game's support channels.
