Changelog

Alles, was in ApexMidnight hinzugekommen, geändert oder entfernt wurde, das Neueste zuerst. Das Spiel wird von Hand gebaut und gepflegt, und das hier ist das Protokoll.

Letzte Aktualisierung: 2. Oktober 2026

  1. AI rivals that race like you do

    • Geändert

AI rivals now get the same item box mix as you: boosts, drafting tows, shields and nitro refills, the odd sludge slick or spin, and only sometimes a weapon. Before, every box they grabbed gave them something to fire.

    • Neu

AI rivals now carry their own nitro tank and fire it on clear straights, saving it up and refilling it just like you. Harder rivals use it more readily, easier ones wait for a full tank. The No Nitro modifier turns it off for them too.

    • Geändert

A shield now protects AI rivals from weapons and maluses, and an EMP drains their nitro, the same as it does to you.

    • Geändert

Achievements unlocked in a race now show what they were for on the results screen.

  2. Tell us how it went

    • Neu

The results screen asks how the race was. A quick thumbs up or down is enough, and you can open the feedback form from there to tell us more.

    • Geändert

The feedback button is easier to find, and a small dot points out the feedback button and your profile until you have opened them.

  3. Your first race in one click

    • Neu

New drivers see a single button on the dashboard that puts them straight onto the grid: a short race on the Shibuya Night Loop against easy AI rivals, with no lobby to pick and nothing to set up.

    • Neu

Drivers who signed up with Google are asked once, on the dashboard, whether they want race reminders by email. Either answer is remembered and can be changed in settings.

Crews get invites and a log

    • Neu

Crew members can invite their friends to the crew straight from the friends list. Pending invites show up on the crews page, where you can accept or decline them.

    • Neu

Every crew now has a log of everything that happened in it: who joined or left, donations and payouts from the bank, banners, new seats, renames and more. Only members can see it.

Championships, rivals and more to unlock

    • Geändert

The championships page shows how many of this week's series you have completed and where you finished in each, lets you continue a championship you have not finished, and offers to race a completed one again.

    • Neu

35 new achievements: podium finishes, racing streaks, championships, season awards, daily challenges and drops, car mastery, friends and crews, and long-haul milestones for animals, pickups, near misses and more.

    • Neu

The results screen now lists the achievements a race unlocked and the quickest rival your lap just beat on the circuit board.

    • Geändert

The top three drivers on each Rivals board are now highlighted in gold, silver and bronze.

    • Geändert

Giving up a reserved event seat now asks you to confirm first.

    • Geändert

Season ladder payouts are now half what they were.

  4. Quick play in one click

    • Neu

A new button in the lobby browser opens a public lobby with random settings: a random circuit, race type, lap count, grid size and bot difficulty, with modifiers and bonus objectives thrown in. No performance limit, so whatever car you drive is welcome.

A fresh look for every public page

    • Geändert

Every public page now shares the look of the new homepage: cars, circuits, guides, crews, seasons, events, leaderboards, achievements, the changelog, the about and contact pages, and the legal pages.

    • Geändert

How to Play was rebuilt with new, sharper screenshots of every race modifier and the race HUD.

    • Geändert

Sharing a circuit link now shows a preview card with the outline of the track and its key numbers.

    • Neu

A back to top button appears once you scroll down a long page.

    • Geändert

A crew page now always lists the crew chief first.

Easier to use on touch and with assistive tech

    • Geändert

Buttons, checkboxes and the show password toggle on the sign in and sign up pages are now large enough to tap comfortably on a phone, and the password toggle can be reached with the keyboard.

    • Neu

The scrolling ticker on the homepage can now be paused, and it stays still if your device asks for reduced motion.

    • Geändert

The back to top button now sits above the cookie banner instead of behind it.

  5. Better guides, more to honk about

    • Geändert

Guides were rewritten and extended, with a table of contents on longer ones, links straight to the cars and circuits they mention, and the date each guide was last updated.

    • Neu

Four new horn achievements, from Hello There at 50 honks all the way to Wall Of Sound at 5,000.

    • Geändert

Removing a friend now asks you to confirm first, so a stray click no longer drops them from your list.

    • Geändert

The homepage slider controls are now large enough to tap on a phone.

  6. Achievements you can see, buildings you can spot

    • Neu

Unlocking an achievement now pops up a notice the moment it happens, on whatever page you are on or mid-race, with what it paid you.

    • Geändert

Drive-in buildings on the city circuits now carry a floating sign and a bobbing arrow so you can spot them from a distance. Driving through one sets off a shockwave and a floating label showing exactly what it gave or cost you.

    • Geändert

The language switcher now shows each language with its flag.

    • Geändert

Disbanding a crew now asks you to confirm first and shows how the crew bank will be split.

    • Geändert

Filled in text that was still showing in English in the other site languages.

  7. Car and circuit pages worth reading

    • Geändert

Every car page now explains how the car drives, where it ranks against the rest of the garage, which circuits suit it best, which guides mention it, and how many drivers own and race it.

    • Geändert

Every circuit page now suggests a setup, lists the cars that suit it, notes when the track is wet, and links to the guides that cover it.

  8. Multiplayer races that hold together

    • Geändert

The green light now waits until every driver on the grid has loaded in, then drops for everyone at the same moment. A driver whose machine never finishes loading is left behind after a short deadline instead of holding the whole grid.

    • Geändert

Drop out mid-race and you get a grace period to reload and rejoin. Your seat is held while you are gone, and only if you do not make it back in time are you marked as not finished.

    • Geändert

A host who crashes out or goes quiet no longer ends the race for everyone, and a lobby whose host walks away is handed to the next driver who joined. Drivers who leave the waiting room without saying so free their seat on their own.

    • Geändert

Knockout races now classify each eliminated driver by the round they went out in, ahead of anyone who did not finish, and tell them straight away.

    • Geändert

A driver who misses the finish or reloads the page is still shown the final classification, and a waiting room that missed the start is sent straight into the race it belongs to.

    • Geändert

Your finishing position and what the race paid you now show up even if you reload the page or lose your connection just after crossing the line.

    • Geändert

A race that nobody loads into, or that runs past its time limit, now closes itself instead of sitting open.

    Fairer results, paid exactly once

    • Geändert

The win and the podium Apexons now go by the final classification, so the fastest driver wins even when a slower one reports their finish first.

    • Geändert

Every lap is now checked sector by sector against what the circuit allows, so a finish or lap record without the full distance behind it is refused.

    • Geändert

Race payouts can no longer be paid twice, even when a connection drops and a finish is sent again. A payout that stops partway picks up where it left off, and one driver failing to settle no longer holds up the rest of the grid.

    • Geändert

A ghost challenge stake is raced for once and settled once, and it is refunded if the rival deletes their account mid-race.

    • Geändert

Shop purchases now check your balance and garage room at the moment you buy, so two quick clicks can never spend the same Apexons twice.

    • Geändert

Signing in with Google now asks for your two-factor code when you have one turned on.

    • Geändert

Top speed limits were raised to match the fastest cars with a fully upgraded engine and nitro, so a genuinely quick lap is never mistaken for a cheat.

    Better looking cars, smoother frames

    • Geändert

Every car is now built on track from its own real design, so each model has its own shape and silhouette instead of sharing a generic body.

    • Geändert

Bots now line up in distinct car models picked to match the pace of the grid, and the same race always gets the same field.

    • Geändert

On slower graphics cards the game now lowers its render resolution when the frame rate dips and raises it again once there is room, so races stay smooth without you touching a setting.

    • Neu

Press F3 in a race to cycle the on-screen readout: frame rate and ping, a detailed performance and network view, or nothing at all.

    • Geändert

Lower ping in multiplayer: rival positions reach you faster and with less jitter.

  9. Easier to read, and easier to find

    • Geändert

Text across the site now meets the strictest contrast standard against the background it sits on. The header, the footer, the tooltips and the public crew, event and season pages were the worst offenders and have all been reworked, so the site stays readable in daylight and for drivers with low vision.

    • Geändert

Every public page now carries its own title and summary in all twelve site languages, and tells search engines which language each version is, so a link shared anywhere opens in the language the reader expects.

    • Geändert

The race calendar feed is now announced by the page itself rather than by the browser once the page has loaded, so feed readers and crawlers find it without running any JavaScript.

    • Geändert

The language switcher and page headings across the public pages were reworked to the same contrast standard.

Never miss a race you booked

    • Neu

Reserve a seat on the race calendar and we now email you 15 minutes before the start. Give up the seat and the reminder is cancelled with it.

    A new homepage and header

    • Neu

The homepage now shows the next race on the calendar with a live countdown, how many crews are active, a tour of the garage and the race modes, and a step-by-step look at how a race works.

    • Geändert

The frequently asked questions were rewritten, extended and sorted into categories, and are easier to use with a keyboard or screen reader.

    • Geändert

The site header was rebuilt, with clearer menus on both desktop and mobile.

More to learn before your first race

    • Geändert

How to Play now covers every race type, track option, modifier and bonus objective a host can pick, plus everything that happens after the flag: crews, seasons, the race calendar, streaks, mastery and achievements.

    • Neu

Two new guides: how to earn Apexons fast and what to spend them on, and whether a keyboard or a controller is faster.

  10. The Apex Club, and more to spend Apexons on

    • Neu

The Apex Club: a monthly membership that multiplies what every race pays you, lends you five more garage slots, lets you open more than one free crate a day, and lifts the once-a-month limit on streak repairs. Cancel whenever you like and you keep every perk until the end of the month you have paid for.

    • Neu

A prestige tier of cosmetics for drivers who already own the lot: the Carbon Weave, Liquid Metal and Prismatic paint finishes, and Ice, Toxic and Ultraviolet underglow.

    • Neu

Custom plates and profile themes. Set a plate and pick the accent your public profile is painted in, both bought with Apexons and neither of them touching how a car drives.

    • Neu

Crews can now fly a banner and buy seats past the twelve-driver ceiling, both paid out of the crew bank by the chief.

    • Neu

Invite a driver with your own link. When somebody you invited reaches driver level 5, you are both paid.

    • Neu

You can now buy a pack of Apexons for a friend. You pay, they get the Apexons, and it shows up in their activity feed.

    • Neu

Two larger Apexon packs for drivers who want to skip further ahead.

    • Geändert

Race payouts, season and crew rewards, daily challenges and the daily crate all pay less than they used to, and garage slots, repaints and prestige tuning cost more. Apexons were piling up faster than there was anything to spend them on; there is now a lot more worth saving for.

Crews, weekly seasons and a race calendar

    • Neu

Crews are here. Found one or join an open one, and every race a member finishes counts toward a shared weekly points target. Clear the target and every driver who scored is paid. Crews have their own bank that members donate to and the crew chief pays out.

    • Neu

Seasons now run Monday to Sunday on three separate ladders: your rating, championship points, and what you put into your crew. When the week ends the ladders are frozen, the podiums are paid, and the winners keep a title they can wear beside their name.

    • Neu

A race calendar with fixed weekly events: the Friday Midnight GP on the Ginza streets, the Sunday Touge Run on the mountain pass, and the Wednesday Knockout on the bayside. Reserve a seat and the lobby opens itself at the advertised minute, with everyone who booked told at the same moment.

    • Neu

You can now book a rematch from the calendar. Pick a time, invite friends, and the lobby opens on its own when the time comes.

A reason to come back tomorrow

    • Neu

Daily streaks. Finish a race each day to keep your streak going, and every day on the ladder multiplies what your daily challenges pay, up to double. Miss a single day and you can buy it back with one free repair a month.

    • Neu

A free crate every day, holding Apexons, mastery XP or a paint finish or underglow you do not own yet. What is inside is fixed for the day and shown before you open it, so there is nothing to reroll.

    • Neu

Car mastery now pays out. Every mastery level on a car hands you Apexons and a free tuning point, and levels 5 and 10 also unlock a cosmetic. Your three closest cars show their progress on the dashboard.

    • Neu

A friend activity feed on the dashboard: who won what, who took a lap record off whom, who levelled up and who joined a crew.

Browse more of the game without an account

    • Neu

The crews, the race calendar and the season ladders are now readable without signing in, with a page for each crew, each weekly event and each finished season.

    • Neu

The race calendar has an RSS feed at /events/feed.xml, so you can follow the weekly races from a feed reader instead of checking the site.

    • Geändert

The site menu is now grouped under Explore, Compete and Community. Everything that used to sit only in the footer, including achievements, championships and the new pages, is reachable from the header.

  11. Your language now follows your account

    • Neu

Settings now has a Language section. Pick one of the twelve site languages and it is saved to your account, so every device you sign in on opens in that language.

    • Neu

The language you were browsing in is remembered when you register or sign in, so a new account starts in the right language without touching a setting.

    • Geändert

Emails we send now use your saved language instead of always defaulting to English.

  12. A steadier, faster site

    • Geändert

The lobby and the shop now ask the database for far less before the page reaches you, so both open noticeably faster, most of all on a slow connection.

  13. Huanying: the site now speaks Simplified Chinese

    • Neu

The whole site is now available in Simplified Chinese under /zh-hans, alongside English, Italian, Spanish, German, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Turkish, Polish, Japanese, Indonesian and Korean. Switch language from the globe menu in the header.

Hwanyeong: the site now speaks Korean

    • Neu

The whole site is now available in Korean under /ko, alongside English, Italian, Spanish, German, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Turkish, Polish, Japanese and Indonesian. Switch language from the globe menu in the header.

Selamat datang: the site now speaks Indonesian

    • Neu

The whole site is now available in Indonesian under /id, alongside English, Italian, Spanish, German, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Turkish, Polish and Japanese. Switch language from the globe menu in the header.

Witamy: the site now speaks Polish

    • Neu

The whole site is now available in Polish under /pl, alongside English, Italian, Spanish, German, French, Brazilian Portuguese and Turkish. Switch language from the globe menu in the header.

Hoş geldiniz: the site now speaks Turkish

    • Neu

The whole site is now available in Turkish under /tr, alongside English, Italian, Spanish, German, French and Brazilian Portuguese. Switch language from the globe menu in the header.

Bem-vindo: the site now speaks Brazilian Portuguese

    • Neu

The whole site is now available in Brazilian Portuguese under /pt-br, alongside English, Italian, Spanish, German and French. Switch language from the globe menu in the header.

  14. Verified accounts, email you control, and a tidier sign-in

    • Neu

New accounts now verify their email address. You get a verification link the moment you sign up, so nobody can register the grid with an address that is not theirs.

    • Neu

You can now choose whether we may email you about the game. Race reminders, daily challenges, championship deadlines and lost records are off unless you ask for them: there is an optional, unticked box on the sign-up form, and the same switch under Email in your profile settings.

    • Neu

Every one of those emails carries an unsubscribe link, plus the one-click unsubscribe button Gmail and other mail apps show at the top of a message. Account emails such as login codes, password resets and address changes always arrive regardless.

    • Neu

A dedicated unsubscribe page that confirms which address you are turning off, and tells you the account emails keep coming.

    • Geändert

Emails now carry the ApexMidnight logo and read better across mail apps.

    • Geändert

"Someone beat your lap record" mail now respects your email preferences and a quiet period, so a busy circuit no longer floods your inbox. The Rivals board still shows every record change.

    • Geändert

Signing in now opens on the email code tab, with the password tab one click away. The code field comes before the send button, and the button explains what it does.

    • Neu

The contact form is now protected by reCAPTCHA, so real messages reach us instead of drowning in spam.

    • Geändert

Fixed an accessibility problem in the language switcher for players using a screen reader or keyboard.

  15. Leaderboards, achievements and car comparisons, now open to everyone

    • Neu

Leaderboards are now public: the global rankings by rating, wins and driver level, plus the current lap record on every circuit, are visible without signing in. Signed-in players still get the friends filter and their own standing.

    • Neu

A public achievements page listing every milestone, what it pays in Apexons and XP, and how rare it is across the whole grid.

    • Neu

A public championships page explaining how a series works: rounds, points, the completion bonus and the full pool with each series' circuits.

    • Neu

Head-to-head car comparison pages: two cars of the same class side by side, with the winner of every stat marked and how many drivers actually race each one.

    • Neu

Circuit pages now show the lap-record board for that track, how many races have been run there, the average recorded lap and the car taken to its grid most often.

    • Neu

Car pages now show where a car ranks in the catalogue by Performance Index, class, top speed and handling, how many drivers own one, and links to its comparison pages.

    • Neu

Every racing guide is now fully translated into Italian, Spanish, German and French, not just the menus around it.

    • Geändert

The changelog is now public, so anyone can see what has shipped without signing in.

    • Geändert

Leaderboards, championships, achievements and the changelog are now reachable from the header and footer menus.

    • Geändert

Pages load lighter: the realtime multiplayer code is now fetched only when you actually join a lobby or a race, instead of on every page.

  16. Bienvenue: the site now speaks French

    • Neu

The whole site is now available in French under /fr, alongside English, Italian, Spanish and German. Switch language from the globe menu in the header.

Willkommen: the site now speaks German

    • Neu

The whole site is now available in German under /de, alongside English, Italian and Spanish. Switch language from the globe menu in the header.

  17. Your language, everywhere, and sharper bots

    • Neu

The site now picks your language automatically from your browser the first time you visit, so you land on the right one without hunting for the menu.

    • Geändert

Every date and time across the site now reads in your own language and local format.

    • Geändert

Credits are now called Apexons everywhere, matching the name used in the shop.

    • Geändert

AI drivers race cleaner: better lines, and less bumping into each other on the lap.

    • Geändert

Fixed share images failing to generate.

  18. New race types, modifiers and smarter bots

    • Neu

New Checkpoint Rush race type: your timer drains as you drive and tops up each time you complete a lap. Hit zero and you are out.

    • Neu

Pre-race modifiers: mix and match low grip, double weapons, no nitro and a mirrored circuit to shake up the lap.

    • Neu

Hazards: oil slicks and destructible barrels now litter the track, and clipping one costs you grip and pace.

    • Neu

Optional race objectives worth bonus Apexons: bank a big skill score, finish without a crash, or rack up drifts.

    • Neu

Races now go fullscreen on their own when they start.

    • Neu

Your controller now rumbles in more situations on track.

    • Neu

Tooltips across the dashboard, garage and car catalogue explain what each stat, tier and level requirement means.

    • Neu

Bots now bring their own cars to the grid: the field is a proper mix of different cars, and how closely a bot's car matches yours depends on its level.

    • Neu

Bots now play by the same rules as you: they can crash and explode, run out of guzzoline, and be knocked out in Guzzoline mode.

    • Neu

Trees and other trackside objects now have collisions, so you can no longer drive straight through them.

    • Neu

Car wheels now visibly turn as you drive.

    • Geändert

Smarter AI drivers that race the track better.

    • Geändert

Power-ups on track now change as the race goes on, lap by lap.

    • Geändert

Run out of guzzoline and you can no longer keep racing.

    • Geändert

When the lobby creator leaves mid-race, the race now ends for everyone.

    • Geändert

Tuning and upgrading a car now happens in its own dialog, so the garage stays tidy.

    • Geändert

Your cars are now listed in a consistent order on the dashboard and in the shop.

    • Geändert

Tighter anti-cheat on lap records and on race results, so impossible times can no longer be banked.

    • Geändert

Fixed spectated racers appearing frozen instead of moving around the track.

  19. Spectating, fairer races and privacy-friendly analytics

    • Neu

Finish a race early? You can now spectate the other players still on track instead of just waiting.

    • Neu

Poles now have collisions, so you can no longer drive straight through them.

    • Neu

Homepage cars now link through to their own pages, and their on-page 3D models have more detailed geometry.

    • Geändert

You can now only bet against a ghost for up to half of your money.

    • Geändert

Guzzoline mode in reverse can no longer be won on an empty tank.

    • Geändert

Other players' underglow is now visible to everyone during a race.

    • Geändert

Fixed leaderboard calculations on the oval circuit, and dead players are now correctly shown as dead.

    • Geändert

Elimination races now validate lap and player counts before starting.

    • Geändert

Fixed a 404 when setting players ready in lobbies, spectated cars that appeared frozen, window flickering on buildings, a rematch incorrectly marking everyone ready, and the "invite to lobby" notification not showing on every dashboard page.

    • Neu

We now measure how the game is used with analytics, so we can see what to improve. Analytics cookies are only ever set if you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your mind at any time.

    • Geändert

Updated our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy to explain the analytics we use and the choices you have.

  20. Underglow, NOS upgrades and garage sorting

    • Neu

Light up your ride with underglow, and pick from a wider range of paint colours in the shop, shown on your car both in the garage and out on track.

    • Neu

Nitro can now be upgraded with Apexons, just like your car's other stats.

    • Neu

New upgrade guide walking through how to spend Apexons to make your car faster.

    • Geändert

Sort your garage to find the car you want faster.

    • Geändert

Car tiles now spell out what each finish and finals tier gives you.

    • Geändert

Flash messages are now translated into your language.

  21. Cosmetics, feedback and fairer progression

    • Neu

Paint finishes: dress your car in new finishes bought with Apexons and show them off in the garage and in-race.

    • Neu

New feedback button in the header: send the team a message straight from any dashboard page.

    • Geändert

Race payouts and driver XP rebalanced so wins and clean racing pay off more.

    • Geändert

The lobby now makes clear that solo races do not change your rating.

    • Geändert

Your dashboard now lists your newest cars first.

  22. Play in your language

    • Neu

The whole site is now available in Italian and Spanish as well as English.

    • Neu

Switch language any time from the new language menu in the header and inside your dashboard.

    • Neu

Follow Apex Midnight on our social channels, now shown as icons in the footer, including our new YouTube channel.

  23. Accessibility and mobile polish

    • Geändert

Accessibility improvements across the dashboard pages, following WCAG guidelines.

    • Geändert

A smoother mobile experience: fixed race and leaderboard layouts, a swipeable image slider, and the menu now closes after you tap a link.

  24. Cars shown as their 3D models

    • Geändert

Cars across the site (the shop, your garage, the catalogue and guides) now show their actual in-game 3D model, rendered from the car's own shape and paint, instead of a photo.

  25. Horns, smarter bots and time driven

    • Neu

New "How to play" page walking through a race step by step, with the full keyboard and gamepad control map, drift and nitro tips, and every race type and modifier explained.

    • Neu

Holding the horn now lights your car up with a pulsing ring on the minimap, and every other racer sees it too, so a honk actually flags where you are.

    • Neu

Player profiles now show your total time driven, summed across every race you have finished.

    • Neu

Twelve new achievements for time behind the wheel, from a 30-minute Shakedown all the way to the 2000-hour Eternal Driver.

    • Geändert

AI drivers now read the track ahead and shed speed before a corner instead of barrelling in, so bots hold the racing line and stop running wide off the track.

    • Geändert

Tighter anti-cheat on race results: a finishing time is now rejected unless enough real time has actually passed to have driven it, so payouts and podiums can no longer be claimed with an impossibly early finish.

  26. Garage slots, ghost wagers and smoother opponents

    • Neu

The achievement roster now numbers a full 100. On top of the new endgame milestones (win 500 or 1000 races, finish 1000 races, reach level 100, own 50 or 100 cars, splatter 1000 animals), dozens more tiers fill in every ladder: intermediate win, finish, level, rating, garage and circuit goals, plus deeper drift, pickup, collision, EMP, respawn, wrong-way and per-species hunting targets.

    • Neu

Your garage now has a limited number of slots (you start with 5). Buy more slots with Apexons in the shop when you want room for a bigger collection, with each extra slot costing a little more than the last.

    • Neu

Optional Apexon wagers on ghost challenges: stake Apexons when you race a rival's ghost and win double if you beat their lap, or lose your stake if you fall short. Racing a ghost with no stake works exactly as before.

    • Geändert

Rival cars now move far more smoothly in multiplayer: they follow the curve of the racing line through corners instead of cutting across it, dead-reckon cleanly when a packet is late, and glide across any correction rather than snapping.
